XRechnung
XRechnung is the German standard for electronic invoices. It started with invoices to public authorities and, since January 2025, every business in Germany must be able to receive e-invoices. Issuing them becomes mandatory step by step from 2027.
An XRechnung is a plain XML file without a visual layer. It comes in two syntaxes, UBL and CII, and both follow the European norm EN 16931. The viewer reads either one and tells you which you have.
XRechnung
Drop the .xml file into the viewer above. It shows seller, buyer, every line, the VAT breakdown and the bank details. Switch the labels to English or another language if the invoice is in German and you're not.
If your supplier sent a ZUGFeRD PDF with the XRechnung profile instead, drop the PDF. The viewer pulls the XML out of it.
What you see
How it works
XML, a PDF with embedded XML, or a signed .p7m. Add a whole folder of invoices if you like.
Field names switch to English, German, French, Italian, Polish, Spanish, Dutch, Finnish or Swedish. The invoice text stays as written.
Totals, VAT and the IBAN are checked for you. Save a clean PDF, a CSV of the lines or the data as JSON.
