Questions

How do I open an .md file?
Drop it into the viewer at the top of this page, or click Choose files. It opens in your browser with headings, tables, math and code formatted.
What is the difference between an MD viewer and a Markdown viewer?
None. MD is short for Markdown, so both show a .md file formatted instead of as plain text. This one also saves it as Word or PDF.
Is the MD viewer free?
Yes. Opening, editing and share links are free. You also get three exports a day: Word, PDF, HTML, .md or copy for Docs. A 24-hour pass or the monthly plan removes the limit and adds templates and branding.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser. That includes share links, which carry the document inside the URL.
How do I convert Markdown to Word?
Open the file and click Word (.docx). Headings become Word headings, lists become real lists, tables become Word tables and LaTeX becomes Word equations.
How do I convert Markdown to PDF?
Click PDF and choose Save as PDF in the print dialog. The PDF keeps selectable text, links and page breaks.
Can I paste a ChatGPT answer?
Yes. Use ChatGPT's copy button under the answer, which copies Markdown, and paste it into the box. Math written as \( \) and \[ \] is converted for you.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Open the file from your phone's Files app through Choose files. The preview and exports work on mobile browsers.
