Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using First Year ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App. These Terms apply to everyone who uses the App, including anyone using a free trial, a paid version, or any related features.
Description of Service
First Year is developed and published by Nordic Software. The App provides the features described on its App Store listing and within the App itself. We may add, change, or remove features from time to time, and we may discontinue the App altogether, with reasonable notice where practical.
User Accounts
Some features of First Year may require you to create an account or provide certain information for the App to function correctly. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any credentials associated with your use of the App and for all activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us promptly at support@nordicsoftware.net if you suspect any unauthorized use.
Acceptable Use
When using First Year, you agree not to: (a) use the App for any unlawful purpose or in a way that violates these Terms; (b) attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise access the App's source code except as permitted by applicable law; (c) interfere with or disrupt the operation of the App; or (d) misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person or entity in connection with the App.
Subscriptions & Payments
First Year is available as a one-time purchase following an initial free trial period, as described on its App Store listing. Once purchased, the App does not charge recurring subscription fees. All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store, and refunds are handled under Apple's own refund policies, not by Nordic Software directly.
Intellectual Property
All content, designs, trademarks, logos, and code within First Year are owned by Nordic Software or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use Nordic Software's trademarks or branding without our prior written consent. Any content you create within the App — such as personal entries, logs, or photos — remains yours.
Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
First Year is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nordic Software is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to First Year if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe your use poses a risk to Nordic Software, other users, or third parties. You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device.
Apple App Store Terms
If you downloaded First Year from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge the following, which applies in addition to the rest of these Terms: this is a license to use the App on any Apple-branded product you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in Apple's App Store Terms of Service. This agreement is between you and Nordic Software only, not Apple, and Nordic Software — not Apple — is solely responsible for the App and its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App. To the extent the App fails to conform to any warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); Apple has no further warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for any claims by you or a third party relating to the App, including product liability claims or claims that the App fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement. In the event of any third-party claim that the App infringes another party's intellectual property rights, Nordic Software — not Apple — is solely responsible for investigating, defending, and settling any such claim. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in Nordic Software's place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full effect.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to First Year or for legal or regulatory reasons. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
